On the invitation of the Director General Lyubomyr Mykhaylyna and the Head of the Research Division of Restoration and Conservation of Movable Monuments Svitlana Gaga-Sheremetieva, on November 25, 2015 Dr. Francesco Peron, the Technical Director of the restoration company Ediltecnica Global Service, and Mr. Paul Cioconea, the Director of CTS Group, which is engaged in production and supply of materials and equipment for the preservation of cultural monuments and works of art, visited the restoration workshop of the National Kyiv-Pechersk Historical and Cultural Preserve.

Today the Research Division of Restoration and Conservation of Movable Monuments of the Kyiv-Pechersk Preserve is one of the largest restoration divisions among museum organizations in Ukraine. 22 restorers of different categories work there, among them two restorers of the highest category unique in Ukraine (on metal pieces of art and fabrics).

The Italian experts noted the high professional level of Preserve restorers in different fields (painting, black, colored and precious metals, paper, textiles, leather, wooden polychrome sculpture, etc.) and were impressed by the results that Ukrainian specialists reach in their work. As Dr. Francesco Peron noted: “One can feel that the restorers working in the Preserve put their heart and soul into their work. One can work in a modern restoration workshop, equipped according to the latest technologies, but do not reach the level of excellence that we saw here”.

At the end of the meeting the sides confirmed their mutual interest in further cooperation, including the stage of restorers and exchange of experience, in particular in the field of the latest innovative achievements and materials in Restoration activities.
