The National Kyiv-Pechersk Historical and Cultural Preserve will celebrate the 90th anniversary of its foundation on September 29, 2016. From today and for the next four months the “My Favourite Preserve” – #MyPreserve action will be on the social network Facebook. What does your favourite Preserve look like? What unforgettable moments, romantic or exciting stories, are related to the largest museum complex in Ukraine? What is etched most in memories and what gave the greatest inspiration – an architectural monument, museum object, an unrushed walk along the paths of the Lavra?

In these difficult days for our country, we celebrate, together with all of Europe, this Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation and the 71st Anniversary of the Victory over Nazism in Europe. These days have special meaning and represent heroism, fortitude, military service and eternal sorrow for the millions of victims of the Second World War.

Record Set At The Preserve: Diamond Pysanka Goes Into The Ukrainian Book Of Records

The representative of the working group from the The Ukrainian Book of Records national project named awarded Preserve staff for the creation of the Diamond Pysanka (Painted Easter Egg). The solemn ceremony was held at the National Kyiv Pechersk Historical and Cultural Preserve on May 5, 2016. At the awards ceremony the welcome speech was given by Preserve General Director Liubomyr Mykhailyna, the Preserve Museum and Education Head Oleh Topylko and the head of the working group of The Ukrainian Book of Records national project, Ihor Pidchubii.

Velykodnia Kraina Unveiled At The Preserve

The Velykodnia Kraina (Easter Country) holiday fair was opened at the Kyiv National Pechersk Historical and Cultural Preserve on May 1, 2016. Velykodnia Kraina offers children a maze of obstacles and interactive challenges, traditional Easter games and competitions. Both children and adults have the opportunity to decorate the Easter tree with self-made Pysanky (painted Easter eggs).

The Preserve Held The VIII Youth Conference “Let’s Explore Kyiv Pechersk Lavra Together”

The young researchers presented their findings and discussed pressing issues of history and culture in Ukraine. A dozen reports were heard. During the conference the participants discussed various aspects of the history of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra and Preserve – the lives of Saints, the unique cave systems, printing and painting masterpieces, and traditions of pedagogical excellence.
