Kyiv fruit and vegetable warehouse of the Chief Special Trade Administration in Groceries “Golovosobgastronom” at the Ministry of Trade of the USSR used the basement of the building Nr. 29 of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra (Trapezna (Refectory) Chamber at St. Anthony and St. Theodosius of Pechersk Church) as a warehouse for storage of apples, tangerines, oranges and lemons, in the late 1940s after the Second World War?

Memories of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra Photo Project

On May 13 last year, the first releases of the Memories of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra Project were published. During this time, we have published more than half a thousand photos dedicated to the Lavra, its monuments, people who lived and worked here, and visitors.

What about our future plans, the next two weeks will be dedicated to the artistic legacy of two famous Kyivans - Hryhoriy and Dmytro Malakov.

We continue to acquaint you with the Artistic Heritage of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. Today, we present to your attention two goldsmith works from the Preserve collection that are wonderful examples of Ukrainian jewelry art of the 18th century. These are silver plates of the main altar of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra Dormition Cathedral (KPL-M-10796, KPL-M-1147).
