Curious facts about Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra

Did you know that

Kyiv fruit and vegetable warehouse of the Chief Special Trade Administration in Groceries “Golovosobgastronom” at the Ministry of Trade of the USSR used the basement of the building Nr. 29 of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra (Trapezna (Refectory) Chamber at St. Anthony and St. Theodosius of Pechersk Church) as a warehouse for storage of apples, tangerines, oranges and lemons, in the late 1940s after the Second World War?

The lease agreement concluded between the warehouse and the State Historical and Cultural Preserve “Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra” on March 27 1947, provided that the import and release of fruit from the warehouse was allowed only from 6 pm to 9 am.
