Memories of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra Photo Project

On May 13 last year, the first releases of the Memories of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra Project were published. During this time, we have published more than half a thousand photos dedicated to the Lavra, its monuments, people who lived and worked here, and visitors.

You can find the list of all previous releases with relevant links on our website.

What about our future plans, the next two weeks will be dedicated to the artistic legacy of two famous Kyivans - Hryhoriy and Dmytro Malakov.

On May 19, we will present you watercolors of 1940-1950 by Hryhoriy Malakov, and, on May 26, the photos of the Lavra of the 1950s from the collection of Dmytro Malakov.

Then we will continue to publish photos of the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. More than twenty new releases of the photo project are planned dating until the early 2000s. In autumn, the weekly Project "Memories of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra" will be replaced by a new monthly heading - "Photos Telling Stories" ("History of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra in Photos"). We will introduce you with some historical photographs and stories, associated with them. To be continued…
