Preservation of the Ukrainian Museum Fund exhibits during wartime
In the framework of the cooperation of the National Preserve “Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra” with the Blue Shield of Great Britain, the University of the West England, and the Association of Art and Heritage Consultants “Exhibition Team” the second online meeting took place. Participants discussed thematic areas of joint workshops and consultations on improving the methodology of digital inventory of movable and immovable monuments of the Preserve during the war.

Thematic areas: - church institutions’ activity during wars and armed conflicts in historical, historiographical, and source dimensions; - preservation of sacred monuments during military actions: historical retrospective and today’s challenges; - digitalization as one of the important areas of heritage protection and museum activity; - written monuments in the digital world: preservation, systematization, and promotion; - restoration and reconstruction of monuments damaged by hostilities; - archaeological research in the areas affected by hostilities: history and contemporary international practices; - interfaith dialogue and relations between the Church and the State in wartime: historical and legal aspect.
The National Preserve “Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra” has started cooperation with the National Committee of the Blue Shield of Great Britain, the University of the West England and the Association of Art and Heritage Consultants “Exhibition Team” with a project aimed at enhancing the methodology of the digital inventory of the movable and immovable monuments of the Preserve, strengthening the technical base, as well as providing training programs for the Preserve staff to create 3D modeling of the most valuable monuments in order to preserve them.

On May 18, 2022, the International Museum Day, we received humanitarian aid from our European partners –Art Aid Ukraine Centre. There were two trucks of packing materials that will help to preserve cultural assets of the Museum Fund of Ukraine as a vital priority during the war.
