“WORLD HERITAGE CITY LAB – SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT PRACTICES FOR URBAN HERITAGE”
On 30 November 2021 an International Scientific and Practical Online Conference “World Heritage City Lab: Sustainable Development Practices for Urban Heritage” will take place at Zoom platform.
The event is a follow up to the International Scientific and Practical Online Conference World Heritage Sites: Sustainable Development Practices for Urban Heritage held in December 2020 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the inscription of the World Heritage property “Kyiv: Saint-Sophia Cathedral and Related Monastic Buildings, Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra” on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The second stage of the Conference will make a particular contribution the 10th Anniversary of the adoption of the 2011 Recommendation on Historic Urban Landscape and as a follow up to the UNESCO HUL Call for Action.
The organizers are the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, and the National Kyiv-Pechersk Historical and Cultural Reserve.
The main objective of the Conference is to raise awareness and build capacities amongst World Heritage site managers in Europe regarding the role of culture and cultural heritage in achieving sustainable development and develop operational strategies for implementing strategies for sustainable development at the local level with World Heritage at their core.
We invite site managers of urban World Heritage Sites within the European region and the Eastern Partnership countries, representatives of national and local authorities, experts of state institutions, non-governmental and public organizations that operate in this field to join the event as observers and take part in the thematic discussions.
