Participants of the International conference attended master class on ceramics painting and "Symbols of Kosovo Ceramics" exhibition
On September, 24, 2015 participants of the International Scientific and Practical Conference “International Practices in Protecting, Preserving and Popularizing Cultural Sites inscribed on UNESCO World Heritage List” dedicated to UNESCO’s 70th anniversary visited "Symbols of Kosovo Ceramics" exhibition organized within the event opening ceremony framework. Among the authors of the exhibition there were craftsmen, the bearers of Kosovo ceramics painting traditions. They conducted the relevant master-class. Its participants got the knowledge of how the techniques of the ceramics painting contribute to creating the works of art.
Among the participants of the exhibition there were Nikolay Cherny and Maxim Gouzenko, the students of the Department of artistic ceramics of the Kosovo Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts of the Lviv National Academy of Arts. They showed how the "raw clay squeezing" technique works while creating the ceramics painting.
Besides, the students shared with the exhibition guests other details of this type of folk art production procedure. By this they have proved that despite some common features, implied in the Kosovo ceramics making-up process, each artwork has its unique and original character.
The items of ceramics the participants of the conference have created they have taken with themselves, in memory of the scientific forum and the master-class they have attended.
Kosovo ceramics painting tradition is the integral part of life in the Hutsul region of Ukraine. It opens the opportunity for the individual to self-identify and self-express himself. Each dynasty of masters, which has its own secrets of creating ceramics, does not advertise or discloses them. This makes the mystery of Kosovo art painting Ukraine.
