Curious facts about Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra

Did you know that in the late 1920’s - early 1930’s the territory of the State Historical and Cultural Preserve known as “All-Ukrainian Museum Town” was the platform for the Kyiv Central Excursion Base of the District Department of Political Education?

The institution couriered tourists, organized tours around Kyiv and hosted tourists in Lavra’s Preserve. The Excursionist House, which was in building № 26 (Brotherhood Hospital of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, today known as Museum of Theater, Music and Cinematography of Ukraine), could accommodate 300 people.
