Photo project “In memory of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra”
Let us introduce the new release of the photo project “In memory of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra” to you.
In it you will see the next portion of the photographs taken by Wehrmacht Captain Paul Liten in October-November 1941, which he made to fix the monuments of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra (Illus. 7-12). Most of the photos became part of the Fund collection of the Preserve and were passed to it by Prof. Wolfgang Aichvede in the 2nd half of the 1990s. But some of them (Illus. 8, 10, 11, 12) did not make their way to the collection. For the first time they saw the light much later, in 2016, when they were published in the book named “Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra during the World War II. Research. Documents”/ Compilers: T. Sebta and R. Kachan.
In addition, we open up several photos taken by the unknown German photographers. They show how Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra lived at the beginning of the Nazi occupation of Kyiv (Illus. 1-6, 13).
In the new release of the photo project “In memory of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra”, which will appear next week, you will be able to see the last series of thematic photos devoted to the life of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra during the Nazi occupation (1941-1943). With them, this topic will be closed.
