Curious facts about Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra

Did you know that there functioned several post office branches on the territory of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra?

The first post office brunch “11-V-15” functioned in the Ukrainian Museum Town in the second half of the 1930s. Then it was also possible to use public payphone that was installed there.

The second post office branch № 15 resumed its work after the Second World War, on May 1, 1955. It functioned in the second section of building № 4 that was adapted for these purposes. To make this activity real, Kyiv City Post Office signed the leasing contract with Kyiv State Preserve-Museum “Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra”. According to the document, the post office resumed its functioning in building № 4 that had lasted there for several years before special organizations started the restoration of that architectural monument.
