“Memories of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra” photo project Postcards with the images of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra made in the 1970s

Dear friends!

This week we would like to acquaint you with one more selection of postcards with the images of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra made in the 1970s.

Nobody could imagine that our postcards’ story about Lavra of the 1970s will take several months and will be covered by 14 releases. Moreover, we found out that most part of Lavra’s photo images belong to that time period.

This release is the last one that will cover the life of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra in the 1970s. These will be the photos that were not included in the previous thematic stories, but, to some extent, reflect Lavra’s look fifty years ago. In addition to amateur photographs, today's selection includes professional photos that were to be included in a photo album planned for printing in the late 1970s. But these plans were not realized. Though, only thanks to the miraculously preserved film, we can see how Lavra’s monuments looked like then.

The next release of “Memories of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra” photo project will be devoted to the images of Kyiv-Pechersk Preserve in the 1980s.
