In 1765, Ecclesiastical Council considered the case of depriving monk Cyrus of the position of cellarer.He allegedly ceased to perform his duties, in particular, was irresponsible in keeping records of flour and prosphora. Besides, he was constantly drunk and quarreled with the novices. The Council elders started having second thoughts about him, suspecting of stealing the flour that he was to receive from Lavra estate mills. Because of this, Cyrus was removed from his post, which was handed over to monk Hadrian. Along with his new responsibilities, Hadrian received a strict order from the Ecclesiastical Council to accept only good quality flour from the mills, constantly report about this to the elders, handle budget matters accuratelyand not to drink at work.
