The theme of this year's International Museum Day is “Museums and Cultural Landscapes”, which once again draws attention to the fact that museums can be authors of new research in the field of cultural heritage and active institutions in the protection and conservation of cultural values both inside and outside their walls. In these difficult times for our country, Ukrainian museum workers, more than ever, have to unite their efforts to preserve national cultural heritage and cultural landscapes, because cultural landscape is a human space, a complicated co-cultural system, a cultural identifier of communities live here by determining their special features, specific nature and identity.

A delegation from the Republic of Turkey headed by Defence Minister Ismet Yılmaz visited the National Kyiv-Pechersk Historical and Cultural Preserve on May 13, 2016. At the Preserve the delegation was met by General Director L. P. Mykhailyna. The honoured guests were given a tour around the museum complex.

The National Kyiv-Pechersk Historical and Cultural Preserve will celebrate the 90th anniversary of its foundation on September 29, 2016. In these difficult days for our country, we celebrate, together with all of Europe, this Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation and the 71st Anniversary of the Victory over Nazism in Europe. These days have special meaning and represent heroism, fortitude, military service and eternal sorrow for the millions of victims of the Second World War.
