Museums and Restoration in the Context of Cultural Heritage Preservation: Ultimate Challenges

DEAR COLLEAGUES!
We are pleased to invite you to participate in the 11th International Scientific and Practical Conference “Museums and Restoration in the Context of Cultural Heritage Preservation: Ultimate Challenges” scheduled for 17–18 September 2026 at the National Preserve “Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra” (21 Ivana Mazepy st., Kyiv, 01015), commemorating the Preserve’s centenary.
Conference topics:
• Restoration and preservation of cultural heritage: history and contemporaneity
• Museum management and protection of historical and cultural monuments
• Study and expertise of artworks
• Museum/librarian/archival/gallery/private collections and relevant activities
• Public administration and policy in the field of cultural heritage protection
• Personnel training in the field of restoration, museum management and expertise
• Studies in the related areas
We invite experts from research institutions, museums, restoration centers, higher education institutions, postgraduate and doctoral students, and students of relevant specialties to participate. Note that the student papers are considered in co-authorship with their mentors! Form of participation: in person and online (ZOOM format).
The Conference proceedings will be published before the start of the conference (if sufficient number of participants wishing to purchase the copies will be collected). Please submit the materials that meet the requirements below to the email address: restavrator.centr@gmail.com by July 27, 2026.
Requirements for submitting materials to the collection:
Authors (conference participants) should submit their own previously unpublished research texts in Ukrainian or English, aligned with the conference theme. It is mandatory to provide a 3-4 sentence abstract of the topic, including its title and keywords in both Ukrainian and English. The primary requirements are the scientific novelty of the material, originality of ideas, and relevance of the topic.
Authors must send:
1. A separate Request for participation (form is attached)
2. As a separate file, the article text, limited to 15 thousand symbols, including spaces. The text should be typed in Microsoft Word for Windows, Times New Roman font, font size – 14, line spacing – 1.5. The file format should be .doc.
а. Format paragraph indents without using a tab.
б. Do not use dashes instead of hyphens in the text and vice versa.
в. Use round quotation marks “. …” when quoting.
3. If additional fonts are used in the text, provide them in separate files.
4. Illustrative material (if any, but not more than 8 pictures) should be attached in separate numbered files in tiff or jpeg formats (300 dpi). The text should include reference numbers for the illustrations (Fig. 1, etc.). After the list of references and literature (see paragraph 5), provide a correspondingly numbered list of captions for the illustrations. As for the tables, you should place them with headings in the text or provide as separate files.
5. The list of references (mandatory), compiled in the order of references in the text follows the text. Please avoid using automatic numbering. References to sources and literature should be given in square brackets with their through numbering (e.g., [3, p. 42] for a bibliography or [3, s. 42] for archival files), where 3 is the serial number in the list. The absence of references to sources in the text is permissible if the author provides an abstract.

Please be aware that we are referencing a specific publication available on a particular electronic resource, not the resource in its entirety.
After the list of sources and references and the list of illustrations, provide a list of abbreviations (if any).
We urge you to adhere to the specified deadlines and submission guidelines for materials.
The Organizing Committee is responsible for selecting materials in accordance with the authors’ compliance with all the above conditions, and for scientific editing, etc. The materials received are not reviewed.
The authors are responsible for the accuracy of the facts presented, the completeness and consistency of coverage of the issues under study, the spelling of their own names and place names, references to sources and references to literature.
Travel and accommodation expenses are the responsibility of the participant.
