Opening of the Exhibition “Samples of Bricks of the Princely Era (Kniazha Doba) Found in the Territory of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra”

A new exhibition “Samples of Bricks of the Princely Era (Kniazha Doba) Found in the Territory of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra” was opened on April 29, 2022, in the narthex of the Church of the Savior at Berestove. The exposition highlights the history of the Lavra architectural ensemble in the 11th-12th centuries, as well as the development of civil engineering and the technology of making ancient bricks - plinths. Olena Makhota, the author of the exhibition and a research worker of the Scientific and Research Sector of Archeology, told the visitors about the most interesting exhibits displayed at the exhibition - samples of ancient bricks with unique end face marks and everyday life traces. All present also had the opportunity to listen to a thematic lecture tour dedicated to the archaeological research in the Church of the Savior at Berestove conducted in 2018 - 2019, given by Olena Makhota and Sergiy Taranenko, the Head of the Sector of Archeology.

The opening hours of the Church of the Savior at Berestove:

Wednesday - Sunday from 10:00 to 19:00.

Closed Monday – Tuesday.

Entry ticket – UAH 50

Reduced price ticket – UAH 25 (for schoolchildren, students, and pensioners)

Free admission for military personnel and members of Territorial Defense Forces.
