Curious facts about Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra Dormitories in the territory of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra
Did you know that the premises of the Economic Building (№ 7) of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra have been used as dormitories since the late 1930’s? Those were the lodgings for the graduate students and employees of the USSR Academy of Sciences.
In particular, that was the place where employees of the Academic Institute of Archeology lived in 1940. Among them there were Volodymyr Goncharov, a native of Berdychiv, who researched Kyivan Rus settlements; assistant Felix Luchytsky, who lived in Zhytomyr until 1935; Anna Beilinson, postgraduate student, who graduated from Odessa State University, and others.
