Dear friends!

Let us introduce the new release of the photo project devoted to the memorable pages of the history of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra

Today you will get the knowledge about foreign guests that visited the Preserve between 1920s and 1930s.

All-Ukrainian Museum Town was a kind of magnet for foreigners from different countries, such as France, Germany, Turkey, America and others. Between the two World Wars it hosted both, official diplomatic delegations and organized groups of ordinary tourists. Excursions for non-residents were conducted by Volodymyr De-Parma, “special assignment lecturer” who spoke several foreign languages. You can often see his face on the photos of those times where he stood surrounded by foreign visitors of the Preserve. Among other things, guests of this category were invited to visit the Museum of Ukraine located in building № 6 at the territory of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. They could observe the precious objects that made the core of Pavlo Pototsky Collection. Sometimes the owner of that representative collection participated in the excursions and spoke about valuable items that composed the exposition.

Next week the project “In memory of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra” will open its new pages. You will be able to see “metal and stone” pictures of the Department of Lavra’s Museum of Cults and Life, part of the All-Ukrainian Museum Town.
