“UNESCO is scaling up the delivery of emergency support to people across Ukraine in its fields of competencies. This war must stop now. The people in Ukraine desperately need peace. And the people around the world demand it”.








The first online consultation with representatives of UNESCO World Heritage properties in Ukraine took place on March 9, 2022 at the initiative of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre in coordination with the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss urgent needs and challenges, as well as to clarify the next steps with regards to the protection of cultural heritage in Ukraine in the face of the invasion of Russian occupation forces on the territory of Ukraine.

Did you know that building № 3 (Monk’s cells or Choir brothers’ cells) of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, which now houses a permanent exhibition of the Preserve “Pages of History of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra” (Museum of History of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra), was used as a hostel in the early 1950s?
